Black Rock Cottage Glencoe
Blackrock Cottage lies at the foot of Meall a’ Bhuird, Rannoch Moor at the entrance to Glen Coe. OS map 41, GR NN268530.
Situation: The cottage is about 1.5 miles south-east of the Kingshouse Hotel, and about half a mile from the A82, on the access road to White Corries ski area. There is parking space for up to 5 cars outside the cottage. The Glasgow – Fort William bus stops on request at the junction of the A82 and the ski area access road.
Accommodation: The cottage has two floors. Sleeping accommodation is in two upstairs bedrooms (accessed by a steep stairway) each with four single beds, and in one downstairs room with a bunk bed, giving a total of ten beds. Mattresses and pillows are provided – please bring your own sleeping bag. Downstairs there is a fully equipped but basic kitchen with hot plates, oven, microwave, toaster and kettles. There is also a sitting / dining room. A pump-handled toilet is located in the coal shed attached to cottage. The shed also provides storage for bikes and skis. No camping is allowed.

Through the 1980's he founded and owned a leading photographic processing lab in Edinburgh. The lab gained a reputation for quality work with professional clients in commercial photography.
In recent years he has concentrated on shooting commercial and editorial work for clients. Landscape and travel images from around the world for stock agencies is an ongoing project.
