The people of Bhaktapur are very welcoming to visitors and they seem to go about their daily life unaffected by the flow of tourists. Pottery has been an important craft in the town for many years with skills passed down through the generations. The age old craft has survived the calls for modernisation and today it enhances Bhaktapur as a city of Heritage.
Bhaktapur is one of the three royal cities in the Kathmandu Valley. The others are Kathmandu and Patan. The city was founded in the 12th century and has retained an old world ambience today where local people continue old traditions and craftsmanship.
